This unit assesses the learner’s ability to demonstrate knowledge of hair cutting foundations through written and practical assessments.
Assessment includes:
-
Assignment (Written, Open Book, Unsupervised): Covers foundation cutting forms, terminology, projection, hair and scalp analysis, scissors, sectioning, tension, and cutting techniques.
-
Practical (Assessor Observation): Demonstrate correct hand, head, and body positions for scissors and clippers on clients/models. Practical evidence can be cross-credited with other cutting services observed.
Prior evidence must include documented demonstrations of correct cutting positions as recorded in the training record book. Learners are assessed on technical knowledge, posture, handling, and safe, professional hair cutting practices.
