This unit assesses the learner’s ability to highlight or lowlight hair using weaving techniques through a practical assessment observed by an assessor.
Prior evidence must include at least two weaved foil services (minimum 10 foils per service), as recorded in the training record book.
Practical assessment:

Performed on a client or model under the supervision of a Senior Stylist (independent of the assessment)

Learners mix and measure products according to manufacturer instructions and Senior Stylist guidance

Apply highlights or lowlights using weaving techniques with a minimum of 10 foils

Complete client record card, including allergy test results if applicable

Work efficiently within a commercially accepted timeframe (guideline: 20 minutes per 10 foils)
Learners are assessed on accuracy, technique, product application, hair coverage, and adherence to professional standards.
