This unit assesses the learner’s ability to apply and remove oxidative hair colour through two practical assessments observed by an assessor.
Prior evidence must include at least three colour services:

Full head permanent colour (level 5 or darker)

Retouch (permanent or semi-permanent)

A commercially current colour service using one or more colours or techniques (e.g., lightened foils with surrounding colour, multi-colour application, varied developer strengths)
Practical assessments:

Assessment 1 – Retouch: Apply colour to regrowth only with no overlapping, following Senior Stylist instructions.

Assessment 2 – Commercially Current Colour Service: Full head application from roots to ends, using any current technique and colour product; includes managing removal according to technique, outcome, manufacturer instructions, and Senior Stylist guidance.
Learners are assessed on product measurement and mixing, application technique, coverage, hair management, removal process, and adherence to industry safety and professional standards.
